"Your intention as to whether this label will be pieced, appliquéd, or simply printed out onto fabric is up to you."

Mariner's Delight label 2

label: "Mariner's Delight Designed and Made by Judith Best London, Ontario Date:"

The Mariner's Delight quilt was one I designed for the July challenge. This is one challenge quilt which I plan on making so I decided this would be a good one to make a label for. This label is designed to be printed onto fabric and then a pieced border added.

The Mariner's Delight quilt was one I designed for the July challenge. This is one challenge quilt which I plan on making so I decided this would be a good one to make a label for. This label is designed to be printed onto fabric. For most of my quilts I design a label using my embroidery software, incorporating parts of the quilt design into the label and then embroidering the label.

Laury M. Vaden
Quilt Label

label: "Quilted with love by Mom"

The head design is my own. I used Adobe Photoshop(r) Elements 2 to create it. I then brought it into EQ5 and created a patch from the image. After coloring the quilt, I took a snap shot of only the center where I wanted to place the text. I exported the center image to Adobe Photoshop(r) Elements 2.0 and added text. I then saved the resulting image as a bmp file. I switched back to EQ5 brought the new image in as a picture and placed on the quilt.

Swap Quilt Label

label: blank

I made this label, a traditional rail fence pattern, so I could properly credit each swapper who sent me fabric. The large 4x8 white space is for all the quilt information. The swappers' names go on the small white spaces next to their three purple, gold and green fabrics. In the interest of saving project file space, all the colors here are the same. On the real label they would all be different. Each small block is 4x4.

Flowers That Bloom In The Spring "Tra La"

label: "This quilt was made for my son David January 2003"

The flowers are from the Embroidery Library. I couldn't help using the silly title. It's from a Gilbert and Sullivan's Operetta and I was singing it while designing this. I didn't want to use a white background because there was a lot of space and it looked so barren. I tried the colours in Photo Studio but couldn't get the soft blue that I wanted. I would make this one as a label because I love doing applique. I just started off with a plain block and stretched the text block until it was 5.0".

The Flowers Are Sleeping

label:"Made by SusieQ With Love for Mom and Dad January 2003"

I started off using Weathervane as a base for my label. I moved lines here and there. To design the text I used PhotoStudio 2000. Font I used was Fine Hand Italic Size 26 I was able to export it to EQ5 without using a go between. I had some questions arise. One was why didn't the material stay in the place that I dragged it using the Fussy Cut Tool? It isn't a big problem I was just curious. I don't think I would use this type of block for a label though. As always the "Challenge" really was interesting and fun.

Child's Jungle Quilt Label

label: "Made by Eileen Allen Old Saybrook, CT 2003"

I recently designed this label for a baby quilt which I made for a grreat-nephew who was born in Sept. 2002. Using the jungle fabric from the quilt as inspiration I used Patch Draw to create all the animals , except for the giraffe and the tree , adding spots on the giraffe, which came from EQ5's block library. The lettering came from a letter exchange I took part in several years ago. It was a real challenge to draw the animals, but fun.
