I edit the first block, convert it to guides, and draw it. Now, when I go to draw the second block the guides from the first block are still there. Is there any way to clear them?
Yes, you can clear the guides. Please add a step 10.
(10) Click BLOCK > Clear Guides once the block is finished before you start another block.
Then, go back to step 5 and edit the next block and do steps 6-10 for it.

In Lesson Six of the EQ6 User Manual, why can't I get the WreathMaker to function? When I click Block > WreathMaker nothing happens because the word WreathMaker remains light grey.
The programmers changed the program slightly after the book was sent to print. The WreathMaker
word on the menu is gray because you do not have a patch selected. Please add a step 40B.
(40B) Click the Pick tool, then click on the line of the heart.
Once the patch is selected you'll be able to choose WreathMaker from the menu.

Every time I draw the square it disappears. What am I doing wrong?
We've had 2 or 3 people email about losing their squares. Don't worry. The click and snap grids are a different drawing process than what you learned earlier. It's just getting over that initial hurdle of "oh, that's how it works" that may stump you for a bit.
Let's start over on page 101 at step 68. Go through steps 68-75.
With the Polydraw tools you click to start, click at each corner, then double-click to close.
Let's mess up a few patches and then do some that work.
How to get rid of "sticky" lines - Method 1:
*ESC - releases your cursor and erases the patch
- Position your cursor over the top-left corner of the block. Click once there and release.
- Pull your cursor away from the start position. If you click anywhere else in the block it will stick to the next spot.
- Press your keyboard ESC (escape) key. This erases the drawing in progress.
How to get rid of "sticky" lines - Method 2:
*Double-click before it is closed - releases your cursor and erases the patch.
- Position your cursor over the top-left corner again. Click once and release.
- Move your cursor away from the start position and click anywhere else in the block.
- Move your cursor away again and double-click anywhere in the block (except at the start position).
How to draw a closed patch:
Check out the image on page 102 labeled Step 77.
- Position your cursor over the top-left corner again. (Where the 1 is in the image.) Click
once and release.
- Move your cursor over to 2. Click once and release.
- Move your cursor over to 3. Click once and release.
- Move your cursor over to 4. Click once and release.
- Move your cursor back to 1 (the start position) and double-click.
That should better explain how it works. Now, try finishing out the rest of the lesson with this new understanding.
