Download the Fabric Libraries
You must do these steps in order, or the directions will not work.
Download the files first:
Go to START > My Documents or double-click the My Documents shortcut on your Desktop.- Click FILE > New Folder. Name it "Monthly Libraries" and press ENTER. (you only need to do this once)
- Click one of the library links below to download it.
- (Do not choose Open.) Save the file to your My Documents > Monthly Libraries folder.
Remember, do not open these files. Windows doesn't know how to open them.
Link to the folder full of files:
- If you have EQ5, you need to link the folder. (see picture)
Do the following steps (you only need to do this once):- Click FILE > Preferences > Directories tab.
- Click Add, type in Monthly Libraries and set it to Fabrics (not blocks). Click OK.
- Select Monthly Libraries in the list.
- Click Modify and BROWSE to My Documents. Select the Monthly Libraries folder. Click OK.
- Click OK.
If you have EQ6 or EQ7, you need to link the folder. (see picture)
Do the following steps (you only need to do this once):- Click LIBRARIES > Fabric Library > Link Library button.
- Click Add, type in Monthly Libraries and click Browse.
- Select the My Documents > Monthly Libraries folder.
- Click OK, then click Close.
If you get an error message "Not a valid directory!", then you are linking to an empty folder! Don't skip step 3 this time!
Using the files:
- To use the fabrics, go to LIBRARIES > Fabric Library. Scroll down in the list to see Monthly Libraries. Open that style up to see the groups. Inside each group are the fabrics for that month.
- Click Add to Sketchbook (EQ6 or EQ7) or Copy (EQ5) the fabrics as you normally would for things from a library.
Next time you want to download files:
- To download more libraries, click their links below and save them to the same Monthly Libraries folder. The folder is already linked, and you don't need to do anything else but save them in the same folder.
- The libraries are split into 6 month groups. Example: In January you will download one file, and in February you will replace that file with an updated version.

If you get an error message, remember, these library files cannot be opened. They must be saved in a folder and then linked to from EQ5, EQ6, or EQ7. |
