The Quilt Festival classes for 2015 are now complete.

Here is a list of EQ classes being offered at Quilt Festival 2015.

EQ7: LET’S START AT THE VERY BEGINNING… (231)
October 27, 2015: Tuesday all day, 9 – 12 noon; 2 – 5 p.m.
Instructor: Mary Ellen Kranz
Level: Beginner with little or no working knowledge of EQ7.
Description: Go from zero to confidence using EQ7.  Learn the block, color, setting, drawing and printing tools as you turn quilt design ideas into reality on your PC or MAC screen.

BEGINNER/INTERMEDIATE INTRODUCTION TO EQSTITCH (236)
October 27, 2015: Tuesday all day, 9 – 12 noon; 2 – 5 p.m.
Instructor: Yvonne Menear
Level: Beginner/Intermediate
Description:  Explore the EQStitch program and learn the basics of working with the autodigitizing features to create linear, filled, applique, and text designs in hands-on computer software class.

EQ7: I WANT TO LEARN MORE… (325)
October 28, 2015: Wednesday all day, 9 – 12 noon; 2 – 5 p.m.
Instructor: Mary Ellen Kranz
Level: Beginner with some experience or instruction in quilt designing in EQ7.
Description: Learn about using quilt design and border tools, newly-released fabrics, text, drawing complex blocks, editing photos and setting them into quilts, scanning fabrics, personal libraries, freeform  settings. Perfect ‘next-step’ beginners’ class.

INTERMEDIATE/ADVANCED DIGITIZING WITH EQSTITCH (329)
October 28, 2015: Wednesday all day, 9 – 12 noon; 2 – 5 p.m.
Instructor: Yvonne Menear
Level: Beginner with basic understanding of EQStitch/Intermediate
Description: Create more intricate designs with drawing tools and auto features of EQStitch. Must have a basic understanding (beginner level) of EQStitch.

BEYOND THE BASICS: CONTINUED LEARNING IN EQ7 (428)
October 29, 2015: Thursday all day, 9 – 12 noon; 2 – 5 p.m.
Instructor: Mary Ellen Kranz
Level: Basic knowledge of EQ7 is required.
Description: Take your design ideas to the next level by learning as you design quilts incorporating multiple borders, embroidery, photos, text, complex blocks and your own scanned fabrics.  Establish personal libraries.

LET’S GET STARTED WITH EQ7 (453)

Instructor: Barb Vlack
Level: Beginner
Description: Gain confidence to use the tools in EQ7 to retrieve blocks from the Block Library, set blocks into a quilt layout, add sashing and borders, change colors, add fabrics, print patterns and estimate yardage.

October 29, 2015: Thursday half day, 2 – 5 pm
Instructor: Barb Vlack
Level: Confident beginner
Description: Customize the quilt worktable with add-on tools, design quilts with pieced sashing and borders, set applique and quilting stencils, create a label to print onto fabric, and audition coloring with solids and fabrics.

CREATE YOUR OWN PAPER-PIECED DESIGNS WITH EQ7 (526)
October 30, 2015: Friday all day, 9-12 noon; 2 – 5 pm
Instructor: Yvonne Menear
Level: Any level
Description: Learn to draw and number your own paper pieced designs (curved and linear).  Set them into quilt layouts, rotating to create unique designs.  Samples of completed blocks/quilts and the ability to add decorative stitches will be shown in class.

DESIGNING BORDERS IN EQ7 (556)
October 30, 2015: Friday half day, 9 – 12 noon

Level: Intermediate (not for beginners)
Description: Add beauty to any quilt with a border! EQ7 has many border options to explore. Learn tips and tricks for printing applique and pieced border patterns that are customized to fit your quilt.

DESIGNING QUILTS IN EQ7 WITH BLOCKS OF DIFFERENT SIZES (591)

Level: Intermediate (not for beginners)
Description: After learning to use the built-in quilt layouts in EQ7, you’ll be ready for the next step of creating a custom layout with blocks of different sizes. Learn tips and tricks to make it easy.

DESIGNING CUSTOM LAYOUTS FOR TRADITIONAL OR MODERN QUILTS WITH EQ7 (742)
October 31, 2015: Saturday half day, 9 – noon
Instructor: Yvonne Menear
Level: Any level
Description: Create quilt, block and quilting designs, and develop color choices, using both traditional and modern quilting concepts (minimal blocks with solid colors).  See samples of traditional and modern quilts made in EQ7.

DRAWING BLOCKS WITHOUT DRAWING (747)
October 31, 2015: Saturday half day, 9 – noon
Instructor: Barb Vlack
Level: Beginner with some EQ7 practice
Description: Use tools in EQ7 to create new and unique blocks to add to your personal EQ7 Block Library. Learn to audition these blocks in a quilt layout, color, and print the patterns. Many tips will be offered.
