“I’m so proud of my beautiful designs in Softwares. I love the way this digital collection allow sewers and quilters to customize and completely plan their projects – and better yet, to see the results right before their eyes.”

Using with EQ
If you have Electric Quilt 6 or 7 software on your computer, you can open any of the Amy Butler projects and use the features of EQ to redesign quilts.
Just put copies of the projects in your PJ6 folder for EQ6. Or open and save the EQ6 project files and save them in your PJ7 folder. This will give you two copies of each project, one to use in EQ and one to use in the Amy Butler Softwares program.
Any changes that you make to the project files in EQ will not be reflected in Amy Butler Softwares program if you open the project files you changed in EQ in this program again.

“Softwares is a great value, even if you just make the projects as the come on the CD. For less than $30, you get more than 20 beautiful Amy Butler patterns. However, it’s really the added features that intrigue me the most–the ability to design and plan a project with a light-weight version of Electric Quilt 6, using inspiring Amy Butler fabrics. In order to get the most out of Softwares, you would be well-served to spend some time getting used to the way the program works, so you get really start working with your own interpretations of Amy’s designs.
There are also a couple of hidden gems in Amy’s sewing glossary and in the “inspiration” section of CD as well. The glossary has clear, easy-to-understand explanations of all the sewing techniques you’ll use for the projects on the CD. And I got lost (in a good way) clicking through the inspiration images–they made me want to break out the sewing machine and get started on a project right away.”
“The design of the CD is easy to navigate and is extremely user friendly – it allows you to start ‘playing’ immediately without spending time reading a manual. However, if you’re interested in some of the more complex aspects of the software such as customizing quilt patterns, all the instructions are available right on the CD. That’s right, you can take existing project patterns and make them ‘your own’ by erasing, flipping, rotating blocks, adding boarders, altering layouts, and changing fabrics! No matter what you chose, either the project as it’s written or complete customization, all sewing instructions are provided as well as fabric requirements (even if you alter the pattern!).
The Bottom Line: I can sum up this software in one word, Wow! Between the projects included on the CD and the customization features, I have a strong desire to sew up a quilt (and the floor cushions and a bag or two), stat! If you’re looking for something new, like to quilt, or in need of some new home decor projects, you’ll definitely want to give Amy Butler’s Electric Quilt Softwares a try!”

“I’ve only just started poking around the program itself, but it already looks like it is well worth the $29 it costs to purchase it. There is amazing photography and inspiration throughout and, in addition to the user-submitted projects in the gallery, there are full patterns for tons of projects from quilts to bags to items for the home. I can definitely see myself making several projects from this CD. Thanks again, EQ!”

“The software includes 22 projects from Amy Butler. Add in the nine bonus projects, a sewing glossary with tips and techniques, a resource guide, and a gallery of project photos, and this is an incredible product for anyone who is into sewing and quilting and who loves to use a computer in all areas of life.”

“I bought a copy at Quilt market to try it out and it is fabulous! You get a skinny version of EQ and 31 projects designed by Amy Butler for $29.95. What a bargain!”
